Recently, I began the restoration process on this Opus 6. It was in good original condition when I found it, but it requires a thorough overhaul.
The initial action involved powering it on to assess the situation. I temporarily swapped out old electrolytic capacitors and replaced visibly damaged paper capacitors. Gradually increasing the power with a variac, I carefully observed for any indications of activity.
Surprisingly, it turned on and managed to tune in to a few stations. My next step is to thoroughly clean the chassis, test all tubes, permanently install new electrolytics upgrade the rectifier, and check all capacitors and resistors.
