Note - This radio is difficult to find from the 1950's era.  The Ballett is easier to find in models manufactured after 1960.
 
This petite radio is a German tube radio manufactured by Blaupunkt Ideal Company out of Berlin, Germany in 1958 for the US Export market.  It contains 5 tubes with  6 AM and 10 FM circuits.  It has the full North American FM range from 88-108 MHz. The sound is very good for such a small radio, measuring only 12.2 x 7.9 x 7.5 inches.
 
 
Everything on this radio is original.   It has NOT been restored nor has it been artistically altered.  It has, however, been gone over and tested thoroughly.  I removed the chassis from the cabinet and cleaned and dusted everything, I tested the tubes, capacitors and resistors and everything was in acceptable ranges.  Anything found out of range has been replaced.  The pushbutton assembly was cleaned with DeoxIT D5 and works nicely.  The original Bakelite finish was hand polished to a nice shine.
 
I pick up many FM stations even known weak stations play well.  I receive some AM and SW stations but not many.  I  believe it's the area that I live in.  I have many tube radios and have difficulty tuning in stations with all of them on these bands.
 
Nothing has been done to this radio that is not described here.  THIS IS NOT A FULLY RESTORED RADIO but rather an original vintage item that has been inspected and repaired as necessary to make it functional.  As with all of my radios, I have played this radio for hours several days a week before I put it up for sale.  I do my best to describe every item in detail.  Please look over the photos and contact me with any questions. As with any old tube radio, this should not be left unattended or played for long periods of time.
