This is a rare Loewe Opta AM FM short wave tube radio from the 1960's.  It looks and works fabulously!  This radio is in ORIGINAL WORKING condition...NOT restored, NOT artistically altered - just the way it was back in 1960.    There are some light scratches in the finish and a small imperfection on the top as shown in the highlighted picture but you can barely notice it.  Not bad for 60 years!!  
I removed the chassis from the cabinet and cleaned and dusted everything, I tested the tubes, capacitors and resistors and everything was in acceptable ranges.  The pushbutton assembly was cleaned with DeoxIT D5 and works nicely.  The original finish and metal trim were hand polished and the original speaker grill cloth cleaned.   I did change the magic eye tuning tube with a fresh NOS so it shines bright and responds well to station changes.
 
I pick up many FM stations even known weak stations play well.  I receive some AM and SW stations but not many.  I  believe it's due to the area that I live in.  I have many tube radios and have difficulty tuning in stations with all of them on these bands.  All controls respond as designed.
 
Nothing has been done to this radio that is not described here.  THIS IS NOT A FULLY RESTORED RADIO but rather an original vintage item that has been inspected and repaired as necessary to make it functional.  As with all of my radios, I have played this radiofor hours several days a week before I put it up for sale.
